About NERI

The Nano Engineering Research Initiative (NERI) is a platform for collaborative research by industry and academia to jointly turn nanoscience into industrially relevant applications: “Moving nano from lab to app”. NERI is initiated by the Department of Precision and Microsystems Engineering (PME) of the TU Delft.

Moving nano from lab to app requires a new knowledge and technology foundation that allows the repeatable and reliable development and engineering of breakthrough functions and applications at an industry compatible scale.

NERI currently focuses on three research programs, functional material structures, precision instrumentation and nanomaterials and devices. Amongst others, applications can be found in smart devices and materials for high tech systems, and scientific instrumentation for metrology, health and organ-on-chip.
